HELP CENTER

Stuck? It's almost always one of these.

The questions that come up before a first chat. If yours isn't here, the walkthrough and safety center go deeper.

GETTING STARTED

How do I start a 1v1 video chat?

Press Start video chat on any page, allow your camera when the browser asks, and you're matched within seconds. No account, no download. The step-by-step version is on the how-it-works page.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up on 1v1video — sessions live in your browser and disappear when you close it.

Is it really free?

Talking is free without time limits, always. Optional conveniences (like country filters) may use coins, but the conversation itself never costs anything.

CAMERA & CONNECTION

My camera isn't detected

Usually another app (Zoom, Teams) is holding it — quit that app and reload the tab. On external webcams, replug the USB. The 1v1 cam page has a full troubleshooting list.

The permission popup never appeared

You likely blocked it once. Click the padlock/camera icon in the address bar, set Camera and Microphone to Allow, then reload.

Video is choppy or freezing

WebRTC is peer-to-peer, so your own connection is nearly always the bottleneck. Move closer to your router, close streaming tabs, and switch off VPN if you use one.

SAFETY & REPORTS

Someone behaved badly — what do I do?

Tap ⚑ Report. The chat closes for you instantly and a human moderator reviews the case against our community rules. Rule-breakers are removed fast. Full flow: the safety center.

Are calls recorded anywhere?

No — video streams directly between the two browsers with no recording server in the path. When a chat ends, it's gone.

Who can use 1v1video?

Adults 18 and over, full stop. Moderation enforces this.
